Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam was an American pop and freestyle music group formed in 1984. The group consisted of lead singer Lisa Lisa (born Lisa Velez), guitarist/bassist Alex "Spanador" Moseley, and drummer/keyboardist Mike Hughes.
Their debut album, "Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam with Full Force," was released in 1985 and featured the hit singles "I Wonder If I Take You Home" and "Can You Feel the Beat." The album went platinum and established the group as one of the leading acts in the freestyle music genre.
In 1987, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam released their second album, "Spanish Fly," which included the hit singles "Head to Toe" and "Lost in Emotion." Both songs topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and further solidified the group's success.
Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam continued to release music throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, with hits such as "All Cried Out" and "Let the Beat Hit 'Em." They disbanded in the mid-1990s, but their music continues to be celebrated by fans of freestyle and dance music.
Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam's blend of pop, dance, and R&B music, along with Lisa Lisa's powerful vocals, helped them achieve success and make a lasting impact on the music industry.
